Buying the biometric security firm AuthenTec for lb235 million early last year, has saved them the time needed to conduct the initial research and allowed for development to be the bulk of their attention. To remove the need for a pin code, a fingerprint reader would need to be housed in the screen of the iPhone. Allowing you to scan your finger, rather than remember a random four digit pin.
